Jennifer – Marketing & Community Outreach Director

I feel like the luckiest person on the planet to be doing what I get to do everyday, which is chat, educate and inspire all things wellness! For as long as I can remember, I have had a hunger for more and more knowledge on how to be healthier. I remember wondering why I was the only person ordering books on healthy eating and exercise in the 4th grade bookorder! This is not to say that I have been a health nut my whole life…oh no. I would be so bold to say that when I met Nick I was eating processed foods at pretty much every meal, and the amount of exercise I was getting went no further than my walk to the train in the morning. I wanted a magic bullet…I knew I wasn’t feeling/looking/acting up to my full potential, but didn’t know what to do with that information. It was at this time that I met Dr. Nick in Salem, Massachusetts at a chiropractic screening. From there, my life was changed. I met my life long health coach, and teammate in life! From that day on I have dramatically improved my health, and LIFE; by adopting a new diet, incorporating functional fitness into my life, thinking positive thoughts and being under chiropractic care. I truly believe that I am a walking testimonial of what we have to offer here at Santa Barbara Family Chiropractic, and I am so grateful that I have the opportunity to share my story with you and be a part of YOUR journey!

Dr. Melanie Beach – Doctor of Chiropractic

For as long as I could remember, I wanted to help people, I just didn’t know how. At the age of 15, during a brutal swim season, I seemed to be struggling more than normal, and I just couldn’t figure out why. I couldn’t sleep, practices were becoming more difficult, my technique was slipping, my school work was suffering because of my lack of sleep. After seeing how badly I was suffering, my parents chose to take me to see a chiropractor. He diagnosed me with scoliosis. I was sure that I was going to have to give up playing sports, which devastated me. But he reassured me, that this was not the end. He took the time to explain to me, why and how my body had reacted the way it had, and provided me, not simply with a way to stop the pain, but a natural and healthy way to correct what was going on in my body. I had for 15 years been in the US medical system, where we treat symptoms, rather than the cause, and I was enthralled to meet someone who was not only willing, but capable of treating the cause to my condition.

It was in that moment, that I knew how I was going to help people when I grew up, CHIROPRACTIC. From that time forward, all that I did, propelled me toward chiropractic. In order in to achieve a strong basis of anatomy, soft tissue, and palpation I earned a certification in massage therapy. To understand, relate to, and help people in times of great stress and vulnerability, I earned a Bachelor’s in Psychology.

13 years later, here I am, just months away from being a Doctor of Chiropractic. I am currently a Chiropractic Student Intern from Palmer College of Chiropractic, Florida Campus.

I found Santa Barbra Family Chiropractic by chance, while planning a trip home. After speaking with Dr. Nick and learning about how he practiced, I knew it was the right fit for me. Considering the fact that I had been a scoliosis patient myself, and having gone through some posture correction, I wanted to learn more, I wanted to learn from someone who has put those practices in place and is achieving the results of not only reduction/elimination in pain, but also is helping others to regain their health.

Camie Biava – Team Manager

Camie has been a member of the Santa Barbara Family Chiropractic for one year now. She grew up in Orange County and has a recently moved to Ventura county where she recently welcomed her first child with her husband. She has been in the Chiropractic field for four years now and truly has a passion for helping others! She is very thankful to be a part of wonderful SBFC team and the welcoming SB community!  When not in the office, Camie enjoys spending time with her new family exploring Ventura’s local coffee shops and beaches.

Oscar – Rehab Technician

Originally I am from the San Joaquin Valley and came into the area when I decided to continue my education at UC Santa Barbara, where I graduated with a Bachelor’s Chicano/a Studies. I gravitated towards Chiropractic care because of its rehabilitative abilities to the body and the body’s innate ability to heal! My interest easily guided me to study biology, nutrition, and athletic training at UCSB and as a rehab tech I get to use my education and passion for the sole purpose to help a community. I am all about giving back to my community and the people in it! I am absolutely grateful for my family, mentors, and friends who have helped me to get to where I am today. Both of these naturally lead me towards the Chiropractic profession where I am able to use my undergraduate education and passion to serve people in a clinical setting. I plan to attend Chiropractic School in the near future, but as of now I love spending time with my family, helping people, and running obstacle courses with my friends! I have an adorable little pup, Chance! I enjoy trying new food, working out at CrossFit, running, visiting new places, and spontaneous adventures!

Taylor – Chiropractic Assistant

Taylor grew up in Orange County and came to Santa Barbara in 2012 to attend UCSB and obtain her undergraduate in Biochemistry. She has always been interested in Health Care and even completed an internship at a hospital for 15 months. It was at this internship that she realized the importance of preventative care rather than reactive care. Taylor became fascinated with the power of food as medicine and taking steps through movement, wellness and nutrition to treat disease instead of the traditional western medicine route that so many in our society fall towards. She found Santa Barbara Family Chiropractic after experiencing a road bike crash and has loved every minute here. The strong sense of community and hunger for knowledge is so powerful here and she finds herself leaving work even more energized and excited every single day. Taylor is excited to be a part of the future of SBFC and see the community grow even more!
